Project description

Every portrait speaks of more than a single person.The works presented here understand identity not as something fixed, but as a constellation of memories, projections, images, and fragments in constant transformation.

Throughout the semester, analogue, digital, and hybrid processes were brought into dialogue. Photography met collage, archival material met staging, personal image worlds met found imagery. Cutting, copying, layering, and re-contextualising became artistic methods for examining established ideas of selfhood, the body, and memory.

The resulting works move between document and fiction, self-image and external perception, materiality and digital surface. Family archives are opened, narratives rewritten, bodies multiplied or fragmented. The portrait emerges less as a representation of a person than as an open image-space in which identity is produced, shifted, and renegotiated.

What becomes visible often remains provisional. Fragments replace coherent narratives. Rather than offering answers, these images invite reflection on belonging, memory, and the ongoing construction of the self.
