Project description
»Form follows function« – Mies van der Rohe
»What works well is better than what looks good« – Ray Eames
»Good design makes a product usable« – Dieter Rams
BOOOORING! We’ve had enough of function, utility, commercialisation, relevance, and reason in general. Our new motto: Blub blub blub.
The aim of the »the IrrationalS« project is to attract attention through irritation. For the first time in the history of the department of Image-Text-Conception, we are leaving the path of conceptual rigour to devote ourselves to the irrational, the absurd and the senseless – but of course with a method to it. The results: A series of campaigns that respond to real-world absurdity with even more absurd ideas. Mad AI chatbots offering deep talk, e. g. about fish poetry, illegal gambling or incredibly cheap indulgences for one’s own salvation, among other things. Products and objects that have no meaning or point to meaninglessness. And a few other things that we're not revealing just yet.
»the IrrationalS – the unreasonable project« is taking place alongside '!RRATIONALE', though not at the same time. See you at Summaery from 9–12 July! Please bring a tuxedo and a rubber duck!
