Project description
What does the body reveal about what's happening in the mind? Heart rate, skin conductance, eye movements, and other peripheral physiological signals offer insights into mental states that we can neither consciously control nor conceal. In the course Physiological Computing at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, students of computer science and human-computer interaction explored exactly that: not just in theory, but with real sensors and their own small research projects.
At the Summaery, selected student groups present their results as scientific posters. Some projects also invite visitors to try things for themselves: attendees can attach sensors, observe physiological responses in real time, and experience first-hand how the body reacts to stress, concentration, or surprise.
The exhibition is open to everyone who is curious: science enthusiasts, designers, developers, or simply interested visitors. The students are on hand to answer questions and explain which signals they measured, which hypotheses they tested, and what their findings mean. Everyone is welcome to participate.
