Project description

In this studio, students worked with the Urban Vision Wolfsburg Competition as a framework for exploring contemporary urban challenges. Because it is a competition of ideas rather than of built proposals, it left room to ask what is worth proposing in the first place.

The studio focused on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into urban design processes, positioning prompting as a method of conceptualization, production, and representation.

Central question for us was how does having AI on hand changes the problems a project can address, and how that shift shows up in the form the project ultimately takes. The studio thus became a testing ground for a new paradigm of design practice: the Prompt City.
