Project description
What does it mean to be native? Does being indigenous come with the perpetual state of oppression? And would those terms even exist if it wasn't for settler colonialism?
The island of Ireland is the first and oldest British colony. 800 years of oppression and continued occupancy has changed native traditions, wiped native culture and compromised native future. Post colonial mentalities and trauma affects the island to this very day. This is a projection mapped animation that explores modern Irish identity through the lens of post colonialism.
