Project description
How do we want to design? Who do we want to design for? What interests are we working for?
The codex-based free project “Rethinking Kitchen” is focused on designing a low-cost, sustainable and inclusive social or community kitchen that is versatile, adaptable and educational to support people with limited resources.
On display are kitchen modules that can be produced sustainably, quickly and cost-effectively according to open source standards. The elements are designed to be modular so they can be adapted to a wide range of requirements in social housing and also be used in large communal, neighborhood and city-district kitchens in the future.
The modules act as objects for discussion and are intended to open up conversations about social challenges in design, kitchen design and society.
The project is using parts sponsored by Naber GmbH.
