Project description

The aim of the event series BEYOND NOW ⸺ Future Questions of Society was to discuss core topics of societal transformation processes and the role of universities in these processes – in particular that of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. To this end, renowned external and internal experts contributed their perspectives and discussed them with the Vice-President and the Weimar audience.

A conceptual definition with Raj Kollmorgen (Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences) was followed by discussions on the future of social fields:

- "Democracy" with Axel Salheiser (Institute for Democracy and Civil Society, Jena) and Andreas Ziemann (Bauhaus-Universität)

- "Artificial Intelligence" with Henning Schmidgen and Benno Stein (Bauhaus-Universität)

- "History" with Jens-Christian Wagner (Buchenwald and Mittelbau Dora Memorials Foundation, Weimar and Friedrich Schiller University, Jena) and Jan von Brevern (Bauhaus-Universität)

- "Earth" with Ingolf Profft (Thuringian Forests Gotha) and Alex Toland (Bauhaus-Universität)

- "Culture" with Ulrike Lorenz (Klassik Stiftung Weimar) and Peter Benz (Bauhaus-Universität)

- "Europe" with Benjamin-Immanuel Hoff (Erfurt/Berlin), Daniela Zupan and Christian Kästner (Bauhaus-Universität)

Recordings of the events will be shown at the Summaery and feedback will be collected from the visitors.
