Project description
Hydra sCC is a hybrid system designed to expand the horizons of expressive possibilities and improvisation for live coders who create visuals at algoraves. These are events where people program sound and imagery live. The system consists of six modules, each equipped with sensors that translate gestures and body movements into changes in the numeric parameters of the functions used to generate visuals. Properties like color, shape, rotation, and contrast can be manipulated using the body as a medium to externalize the performer’s intentions.
This performance brings an approach of HCI study into the design of novel interfaces into performative digital arts
