Project description
An individually selected building, dealt with in a dossier of about 60 minutes reading time - that makes: One Hour of Architecture.
This newly designed assignment replaces the well-known written examination in the Bachelor's module History and Theory of Modern Architecture. Students choose a building themselves, research sources, plans, images and all other information and then produce this dossier based on the layout instructions.
The centrepiece of the booklet is the essay, in which a characteristic theme of the building is discussed. Here, the students justify their choice of building based on the following key questions: Why did you choose this particular building and what fascinates you about it? Where does the architectural – or lack thereof – come from? What design problems were solved? What contexts characterised the design? – A completely new and unique world opens up behind the individual buildings.
