Project description

The LYONEL ART AWARD honors graduates whose final theses were significantly supervised by one of the fine arts professorships and who have distinguished themselves through outstanding achievements.

This year's jury, consisting of Dr. Jenny Graser (Kupferstichkabinett, Berlin), Andrea Karle (Kulturstiftung Thüringen, Gotha), Julia Rosenbaum (ROSENBAUM Art Advisory, Berlin), has drawn up the following shortlist (in alphabetical order):

Maria Fabricius Wendt, Till Roettjer, Simon Surjasentana, Rio Usui

The exhibition opens at 5 pm, the award ceremony takes place at 6 pm.

This year's exhibition is organized by marke.6, the exhibition initiative of students at the Bauhaus University Weimar.

The three professorships in the Fine Arts degree program are:

Sculpture, Object, Installation - Prof. Björn Dahlem
Experimental Painting and Drawing - Prof. Jana Gunstheimer
Art and social space - Prof. Christine Hill

Drinks will be provided by Wiegand Manufaktur Weimar.

Lyonel - Verein zur Förderung von Kunst, Gestaltung und Kultur (Lyonel e.V.) is a non-profit association that promotes cultural and artistic purposes in particular. It was initiated and founded in 2019 by Tabea Marx and Dr. Sebastian Händschke. Dr. Sebastian Händschke, Juliane Keith and Constanze Roth have been jointly responsible for Lyonel e.V. as a board team since 2023.
