Project description
Welcome to the European Metropolitan Region of Nuremberg! Over the summer semester, the second semester of urban studies at the Chair of Spatial Planning and Spatial Research investigated the Nuremberg region. Here, the largest rail project in Germany was recently initiated, climate neutrality by 2030 was announced, the application for World Agricultural Heritage status was initiated, the first university foundation of the 21st century and the construction of Germany's first university specializing in AI was celebrated, to name just a few projects.
Various questions have guided us throughout this project. How does a metropolitan region function without a real center? What is the relationship between rural and urban areas? What role does the metropolitan region play in regional planning? Based on the title keywords "Regional. Polycentral. Suboptimal?" we would like to present our results, thoughts and concepts for the future development of the metropolitan region in our exhibition.
Come along - we look forward to seeing you!
