Project description
ILLUMULUS is an anonymous author who performs in public spaces and writes and illustrates stories in interaction with his audience. ILLUMULUS can be understood as an allusion to ILLUMAT, a drawing machine that mechanically accepts wishes and ideas and automatically converts them into images.
While the ILLUMAT addresses the human fascination with machines, the ILLUMULUS asks what is specifically human that distinguishes it from the machine. Because: ILLUMULUS contains a machine, ILLUMAT contains people.
ILLUMULUS uses generative neural networks for its works, which generate individual stories and images through interaction with the visitors. The results are unique "books" that visitors can take home with them.
