Project description
MULTIPERSPECTIVITY - A photo project
The concept of MULTIPERSPECTIVITY describes that "the historiography and the statement about an event can only be made in the context of a certain social, cultural perspective" (K. Bergmann). So everyone perceives what is happening politically or socially very differently, based on their own history and life situation. The initiators of the project felt it was important to repeatedly attempt to come together and take away lasting experiences from this and allow them to have an impact in the future. Photographs were taken at every opportunity, both during the day and at night, and it was not only the residents of the Weimar-West district that played a major role, but also the numerous house cats living there. Rumor has it that Weimar-West has the highest density of cats in Germany. And indeed, many pictures were taken with cats! There are rumours, stories and projections everywhere - including the prefabricated housing estate Weimar-West, which was built as part of the GDR housing program in 1973. The project shows a kaleidoscope of different visualizations that were compiled and jointly developed from multiple perspectives by children, teenagers and young adults, all in the early summer of 2024. Our THANKS go to the DEMOKRATIE STÄRKEN funding, the Weimarer Wohnstätten and KRAMIXXO&WAGGONG!
