Project description
The course is aimed at bachelor students of architecture, urban planning, and media art/media design and can be taken concurrently with the 2nd or 4th core module. In the course, we learn various methods of spatial and temporal representation and the development of ideas, concepts, and designs from different eras and cultures. We analyze analog and digital forms of representation and visual media from architecture and art, such as drawings, diagrams, statistics, scripts, instructions, scenarios, collages, photographs, animations, or films that conceptualize the different temporal levels and the design process itself, making it visible as a process. Particularly successful works, buildings, or spatial environments by artists, architects, or urban planners are also explored in terms of their methods and representations in the creation process.
Following this, you will develop your own aesthetic experiments, structured actions, and architectural representations that not only depict a future state but also reflect a designing thought process. Information content and scale must be coordinated in drawing and model-making.
The result of the seminar is either a portfolio or a video/animation of your work results.
