Wir freuen uns sehr, am kommenden Dienstag den Auftakt unserer Vortragsreihe mit dem Thema "Critical Landscapes" mit euch einzuleiten!

Wir möchten informell über das Thema ins Gespräch kommen und den Sommer draußen vor der M18 begrüßen.

»Anti-Racist Practices in Media Studies« EQUITY AT BAUHAUS II: MEDIA EDITION

Prof. Dr. Jiré Emine Gözen will examine how racist and racializing structures and traditions of thought intersect with the university as an institution. She will analyse the ongoing debates surrounding academic freedom, which are currently being exploited by the political right to control the narrative. She will also offer insights from a media studies perspective on how anti-racist practices can be integrated into academia.

“Race & Gender in TV & Film Productions: Clichés, Stereotypes & Microaggressions” - EQUITY AT BAUHAUS II: MEDIA EDITION

Guest Arpana Aischa Berndt will discuss the importance of dealing critically with racial and sexual discrimination in tv and film productions and the inclusion of marginalized perspectives. She will explain the need for an intersectional approach to anti-discrimination in creative work and she will present examples from the film industry, her own experiences as a scriptwriter, sensitivity reader, and consultant for film and serial productions. She will finally discuss how to challenge clichés, stereotypes and microaggressions in order to write more sensitively with and about people who face discrimination.

»Beweg dich und die Uni gleich mit« – Abend des studentischen Ehrenamts

Am Donnerstag, 11. Mai 2023, ab 18 Uhr, wollen wir das Engagement feiern und diejenigen würdigen, die aktuell ein studentisches Ehrenamt innehaben – einen ganzen Abend lang mit Redebeiträgen, Musik, Getränken und Snacks. All jene, die vielleicht neugierig sind und selbst überlegen, für eine Wahlperiode ein Amt zu übernehmen oder einfach mal vorbeischauen wollen »wer noch so dabei ist«, sind ebenfalls herzlich eingeladen.
