Für seine herausragende Masterarbeit zum Thema »Quantification of opening’s irregularity for unreinforced masonry facades using finite element and equivalent frame method« wurde Absolvent und DAAD-Stipendiat M.Sc. Daniel Agudelo Gomez von der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Erdbebeningenieurwesen und Baudynamik (DGEB) geehrt. Die Vergabe des Förderpreises erfolgte im Rahmen der 18. D-A-CH-Tagung, welche vom 14. bis zum 15. September 2023 in Kiel stattfand.

Das Referat Personalentwicklung und Gesundheitsmanagement der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar hat ein vielfältiges Inhouse-Fortbildungsprogramm mit insgesamt 15 Veranstaltungen zusammengestellt. Alle Mitarbeitenden der Universität können sich ab sofort für einen oder mehrere Kurse anmelden.

On Thursday, 5 October 2023, a discussion series with Shoah survivors and their descendants, speakers from Israel and Germany, and lecturers and students from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will take place on campus as part of Thuringia’s ACHAVA Festspiele. All interested parties are warmly invited to join. The series will take place on »Seat#12«, a seating installation by artist and Faculty of Media staff member Jenny Brockmann. The installation will be exhibited in the Main Building especially for this day and is intended to inspire a lively space for discussion.

In her bachelor project »Ukrainian Tarot« Anastasiia Orobko intensively dealt with a cultural heritage of her home country Ukraine - the elaborately embroidered traditional costume blouses Vyshyvanky.

They are a part of the »Less ego. More respect.« campaign, which is aiming to promote the campus as a creative, harmonious public space where we all interact respectfully with nature. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Presidium hopes to send a creative and empathetic message to show young people interested in studying how to constructively and experimentally interact with one’s environment in the context of studying at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

Im Forschungsprojeks »WIR! – Wandel durch Innovation in der Region« an der Fakultät Architektur und Urbanistik steht das reiche kulturlandschaftliche Erbe der Industriegeschichte des Vogtlandes im Mittelpunkt. Dieses als Potential für eine zukunftsweisende, nachhaltige Regionalentwicklungsstrategie nutzbar zu machen ist Ziel des trans- und interdisziplinären Projektes zwischen Landschaftsarchitektur, Denkmalpflege und Soziologie.

Each year, the competition calls on innovative students and recent graduates of product and industrial design and engineering degree programs worldwide to submit pioneering projects.

From 9 to 11 November 2023, this year’s annual conference of the Institute for European Urban Studies (IfEU) at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be held on the topic of »Authoritarian Urbanism: Global Manifestations, Knowledge Exchange and Contestation«. Registration is open until 31 October 2023.

Am 16. September findet der World Cleanup Day, die größte Freiwilligeninitiative zur Beseitigung von Müll, wieder in Weimar statt. Die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar wird sich in diesem Jahr aktiv an dem Tag beteiligen, um ein Zeichen gegen Ressourcenverschwendung und Umweltverschmutzung zu setzen. Alle Universitätsangehörigen sind eingeladen, sich der Initiative anzuschließen.

Fast 25 Jahre wirkte Dr.-Ing. Ralf Englert im Landesverbandsbeirat Sachsen/Thüringen der Deutschen Vereinigung für Wasserwirtschaft, Abwasser und Abfall e. V. (DWA) mit. Als Vertreter der Thüringer Hochschulen setzte er sich unter anderem für einen Dialog zwischen Wasserwirtschaft und Wissenschaft ein. Für sein Engagement wurde der wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar am 6. September in Radebeul mit der Ehrennadel des Fachverbandes ausgezeichnet.

On 29 September 2023, 11.30 am, a twin exhibition will be opened in the foyer of the University Library, focusing on creative projects and people from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. All persons interested are cordially invited to the vernissage, which will be opened by the President Prof. Peter Benz as well as Dr. Ulrike Kuch, Vice President for Social Transformation.
