Vom 25. bis zum 27. August 2021 veranstaltet die Stadt-und Regionalbibliothek Erfurt die mobilen Bildungstage »Ach du Scheiße! – Vom Menschenrecht auf eine Toilette und innovativem Abwasserrecycling« auf dem Erfurter Domplatz. Mit dabei ist die interaktive Toilettenanlage »P-Bank«, die von Studierenden und Lehrenden der Fakultäten Bauingenieurwesen sowie Kunst und Gestaltung an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar entwickelt wurde und auf Phosphorknappheit, Nährstoffkreisläufe sowie die Rolle von Sanitärsystemen aufmerksam macht.

Die kinetische Lichtinstallation von MX ZEHN wird vom 27. bis 29. August 2021 im nächtlichen Park an der Ilm als Teil des kulturellen Programms anlässlich des »Weimarer Dreiecks«, einem außenpolitischen Gipfeltreffen der Länder Frankreich, Deutschland und Polen, zu erleben sein. Ergänzt wird die Aufführung durch Arbeiten von Studierenden der Medienkunst / Mediengestaltung der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

Als Startpunkt für die Erprobung eines flächendeckenden Abwassermonitorings hat Thüringens Wissenschaftsminister Wolfgang Tiefensee am Dienstag, 20. Juli, einen ersten Fördermittelbescheid über rund 61.000 Euro zur Anschaffung von Laborgeräten an Prof. Dr. Silvio Beier, Leiter des Bauhaus-Instituts für zukunftsweisende Infrastruktursysteme der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (b.is), und den Präsidenten der Universität, Prof. Dr. Winfried Speitkamp, übergeben. In einem nächsten Schritt wollen die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und das Messtechnikunternehmen Analytik Jena GmbH als Industriepartner in einem Pilotforschungsprojekt regelmäßige Abwasseruntersuchungen gezielt als Frühwarnsystem gegen Epidemien erforschen.

Prime Minister of Thuringia Bodo Ramelow visited the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar on Wednesday 7 July as part of his »social cohesion« tour. The slogan of the day was »using technology to protect against infection«. In keeping with this topic, the Professorship of Building Physics presented the optical schlieren methods that have been used since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic to examine how breathing air spreads within a room and the effectiveness of different types of masks.

Die Thüringer Landesregierung hat kürzlich die unter Federführung des Umweltministeriums erarbeitete Thüringer Landesstrategie Wasserstoff beschlossen. Diese basiert in wesentlichen Teilen auf dem 2019 erstellten Gutachten der Professur Energiesysteme der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Mit der Landesstrategie soll die grüne Wasserstoffwirtschaft in Thüringen vorangetrieben werden.

Seit Anfang Juni 2021 ist die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar mit dem F. A. Finger-Institut für Baustoffkunde unter Leitung von Prof. Dr.-Ing. Horst Michael Ludwig als neuntes Mitglied im Deutschen Forschungsnetzwerk Rohstoffe GERRI - German Resource Research Institute vertreten. Künftig profitiert das Forschungsnetzwerk von den Kompetenzen der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar im Bereich des Recyclings und des ressourceneffizienten Einsatzes von Baustoffen.

For the first time, two major internationally oriented exhibitions are explicitly dedicated to Eastern European and German-German design history. In Warsaw, the »Cold Revolution« exhibition opened on 27 May 2021 at the Zachęta National Gallery, and at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, the »German Design 1949-1989« exhibition has been running since 20 March 2021. The Modernist Archive is represented at each with a total of 25 exhibits on loan.

Der Kunstpreis »Born to be Bauhaus« geht in diesem Jahr an die Performance-Künstlerin Denise Blickhan, Studentin der Freien Kunst im 7. Semester, und das Klangkunstkollektiv bauhaus.fm-Rundfunkorchester.

With the New European Bauhaus project, the EU is initiating a societal transformation aimed at anchoring and realizing the goals of the Green New Deal in society. Last Friday, at the New European Bauhaus Conference, a prize was presented for particularly forward-looking and meaningful projects for inclusive, aesthetic and sustainable transformation.

Together with intensive care physicians at the Kloster Grafschaft-Fachkrankenhaus, scientists at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar are investigating how virus-infected air spreads among ventilated patients. The goal is to prevent the spread of infection in hospitals and care homes.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Conrad Völker and his team from the Building Physics department are the winners of the »Thüringer Forschungspreis« in the category of »Angewandte Forschung« (applied research). The researchers are being honoured for their work on »Optische Schlierenverfahren zur Visualisierung von Raumluftströmungen« (Schlieren method for the visualization of indoor airflow) and will be awarded a prize of 12,500 euros. This is the first time that the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has won this award.

The rapid test centre at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (accessible via Belvederer Allee 4) has been open for two weeks now. The testing team was able to carry out around 100 rapid antigen tests on-site on each of the first days the centre was open. This is a great success considering the test centre has yet to be fully operational for members of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar.

The Experimental Radio Chair of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Goethe-Institut would like to announce the beginning of the Radio Art Residency in Weimar with its first artist-in-residence Masimba Hwati for the period April to June 2021.

On Tuesday, 30 March 2021, the city of Weimar, together with the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, is opening a test centre on campus. Students and employees from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar can be tested for the coronavirus at Bauhausstraße 7b.

The 2021 summer semester is about to begin at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Again, it will be a semester seriously influenced by the corona pandemic and will therefore have to be organised accordingly. How are we organising the 2021 summer semester?

Am Dienstag, 9. März 2021, feierte das Studierendenwerk Thüringen gemeinsam mit Gästen von der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, dem Thüringer Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Digitale Gesellschaft, der Stadt Weimar und beteiligten Baufirmen das Richtfest der Mensa am Park.
