The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has successfully made it through the first round in the federal and state »Professorinnenprogramm 2030« call for applications. This makes it one of 92 universities in Germany that impressed the jury and received an award for their gender equality policies, structures and measures. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar was one of just 22 universities who were additionally awarded the title of »Gleichstellungsstarke Hochschule« (universities with strong gender equality). This is the fourth time that the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has been successful in the Federal Ministry of Education and Research’s programme for strengthening gender equality at universities.

Vom 2. bis 4. Februar 2024 luden die Gründungsservices der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena und der Technischen Universität Ilmenau angehende Gründerinnen in das Rittergut Positz zu einer zweitägigen Netzwerk- und Weiterbildungsveranstaltung ein – Das Besondere: Das Event richtete sich ausschließlich an Frauen mit einem Gründungsvorhaben. Das sogenannte »Female Founders Retreat« (deutsch für: Rückzug von der gewohnten Umgebung) adressierte die Teilnehmerinnen des neuen Förderprogramms »EXIST-Women« des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz (BMWK), das Frauen an Hochschulen und Forschungseinrichtungen zur unternehmerischen Selbstständigkeit ermutigen will.

Studierende der Fakultät Architektur und Urbanistik zeigen im Hauptgebäude und in den Kuben die Ergebnisse aus ihren Entwurfs-, Forschungs- und Lehrprojekten des Wintersemesters 2023/24 bei der »go4spring«. Fotograf Thomas Müller hat die Eröffnungsveranstaltung am 8. Februar 2024 begleitet und dokumentiert. Interessierte können die Ausstellung noch bis Sonntag, 11. Februar 2024, erkunden (Öffnungszeiten: Freitag: 12 bis 18 Uhr, Samstag/Sonntag: 12 bis 16 Uhr).

This year is the first year since the pandemic that the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be represented with a stand at the Leipzig Book Fair. Guided by the theme: »Even more reading, even more writing. Neues Schreiben – neues Lesen«, students have designed an interactive exhibition that will be set up at Booth H503 (Hall 2) on 70 square metres centred around current developments in reading and writing in conjunction with artificial intelligence. The title of the exhibition ironically references this year’s »Literaturfestivals Leipzig« slogan: »Who is still reading?«

In diesem Jahr ist die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar erstmals seit Beginn der Pandemie wieder mit einem Stand auf der Leipziger Buchmesse vertreten. Unter dem Motto »Even more reading, even more writing. Neues Schreiben – neues Lesen« gestalten Studierende in der Booth H503 (Halle 2) auf 70 Quadratmetern eine interaktive Umgebung rund um die aktuellen Entwicklungen des Lesens und Schreibens im Zusammenhang mit Künstlicher Intelligenz. Der Titel des Auftritts bezieht sich ironisch auf das diesjährige Motto des Literaturfestivals Leipzig liest: »Who is still reading?«
