The 2020/2021 winter semester at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar – what’s it going to look like?
As much in-person classroom teaching as possible – that’s our credo and hope for the upcoming 2020/2021 winter semester at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. All students – both new and those who are already in their later semesters – should have access to a safe and effective education on campus in Weimar, a place where students can exchange ideas with instructors and fellow students. In-person contact remains one of the most important elements for successful interdisciplinary (project-based) studies. However, the health of all university members is our top priority.
This means that we are putting numerous protective measures in place to ensure that learning and teaching can be carried out safely and effectively. To make sure this can happen, a few things will be different from in a normal semester: Physical distancing regulations will change the way students and instructors interact with one another, digital solutions will continue to play an important role and masks will be part of everyday university life.
The amount of in-person classroom teaching and digital teaching will vary between faculties and study programmes. The amazing thing about our university is that each and every one of us is creative enough and flexible enough that we can explore and discover the best ways to learn and teach under the current conditions and, if required, convert classroom teaching back to digital formats.
On 1. October, our course catalogue will go online and you will have access to detailed information on all the courses the university has to offer.
Come to Weimar! We can’t wait to welcome you back in-person after the digital semester.
