Saving Energy Together – What is the Right Room Temperature?
It’s all over the media: Each degree that we lower room temperature saves gas, therefore lowering energy costs. Legally, all workrooms should be heated to 19°C. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is relying heavily on you to responsibly regulate the temperatures in offices.
To do this, set your heaters to between 2.5 and 2.9. Check your thermometer regularly: If the temperature exceeds 19°C, turn the heating down. If it drops below 19°C, turn it up; no one should be permanently cold. At the end of the day or when you leave the room for a longer period of time, turn the heating down to 1.5 (»moon«). Turn the heating down at night and on weekends.

Background:
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is facing an unpredictable situation this year due to reduced gas delivery and limited supply. The State of Thuringia has asked the university to reduce our energy consumption by 15 to 20 percent. But how is this going to be possible? You can do your part by acting responsibly and frugally when it comes to energy consumption. You, too, can help use energy responsibly and efficiently.
