Infomail from the Presidium: Information on the Exam Period & Guidelines for In-person Exams
Dear Bauhaus-Universität Weimar students and staff,
The exam period is coming up and, during these special Corona times, we once again need to take these unusual circumstances into consideration. In order to deal with the situation properly, we are again asking for the cooperation of everyone involved. Providing reliable health security and safely carrying out in-person exams is important and allows students to focus on doing well on their exams.
As you know, in addition to exam rooms on campus, the following large halls across Weimar will be used to conduct in-person exams:
- Sporthalle Falkenburg
- Asbach-Sporthalle
- Innenstadt-Sporthalle
- Seminar rooms in the Weimarhalle
All participants must wear an FFP2 mask when entering and exiting exam buildings. Free FFP2 masks will be provided at the exam locations and shoe covers will be issued at exams taking place in sports centres.
In compliance with the city and the health department, medical masks (e.g. surgical masks) must be worn by everyone present at the four aforementioned locations. This measure further increases safety. Wearing a surgical mask is not mandatory, but is strongly recommended at all exam locations.
Please note the following texts:
1. Guidelines for in-person exams for both students and examiners:
- These guidelines include a summary of the rules of conduct for in-person exams to help ensure that everything runs safely and smoothly.
2. Exam plans for centrally organised in-person exams (updated 24 February 2021)*, including floor plans for large halls:
- This document contains the current plans for centrally organised in-person exams, including dates, times, and locations.
- Please be aware of the additional information provided by the individual faculties, especially regarding exams that have been divided over several rooms.
* Note from 22 February 2021: Due to construction work in the University Library, the scheduled exams in calendar week 8 and 9 (23 February – 5 March 2021) have to be moved to other premises. The changes can be found in the following list: New locations for exams planned in Audimax
3. Quarantine Declaration for in-person events:
- Just like last semester, this declaration is to be filled out and signed by all in-person exam participants.
- This declaration is intended to help prevent anyone who poses an increased risk of infection from taking part in in-person exams.
4. Consent for online remote exams:
- Students must give their consent prior to participating in an online remote exam (see §4 of the Corona General Regulations and its first amendment).
- A statement or act that clearly expresses consent of the participant is sufficient. This statement can be found in the consent template that has been sent out. Electronic declarations (e.g. e-mail response or reply) or acts such as mouse clicks (e.g. ticking a box in Moodle) are also sufficient forms of consent. It is important that the acts of consent can be assigned to the appropriate participant and archived.
Be sure to prepare yourself well so that we can carry out this exam period as smoothly as possible. Thank you!
We wish you all the best for the end of the semester.
