MINT Preparation Course Facilitates Entry into Engineering Studies
For the new first semester students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, a scientific preparation course will again be activated on the learning platform moodle from September 1. With the course »Einstieg ins Studium WiSe 2021/22«, the basics in mathematics, mechanics and chemistry can be repeated independently, so that students have the opportunity to refresh their knowledge before the start of the regular lecture period.
The basic subjects play an important role in the studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, especially in the first semesters. Mathematics and mechanics in particular form an important foundation on which all engineering subjects offered are built. In the Management [Construction, Real Estate and Infrastructure] degree program, too, these subjects are important prerequisites for a basic understanding as well as for technical calculations or economic feasibility studies. Furthermore, not only students of Environmental Engineering also need a good knowledge of chemistry, which is why this subject is also an important part of the introductory course.
To ensure a successful start to the semester, the lecturers at the Faculty of Civil Engineering are therefore again offering the preparatory course »Einstieg ins Studium WiSe 2021/22« on the moodle learning platform, which focuses on the MINT subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology). In this way, newly enrolled students can independently repeat or refresh their knowledge before the start of the regular lecture weeks. Various online tutorials, chat rooms, learning videos, exercises and much more have been set up for this purpose.
