New Vice-President (Prorector) Selected for University Directorate November 7, 2012
Prof. Dr. phil. Walter Bauer-Wabnegg becomes Vice-President (Prorector) of Research and Art. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar senate selected Prof. Dr. phil. Walter Bauer-Wabnegg as a Vice-President (Prorector) for the University Directorate, following the suggestion of President (Rector) Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karl Beucke.
Prof. Dr. phil. Bauer Wabnegg took the place of Prof. Dr. phil. habil. Hans Rudolf Meier, who took over the Prorector’s office in April of 2011 for three semesters.
Prof. Dr. phil. Bauer Wabnegg was born in 1954 in Straubing and studied linguistics, literary studies, theology and philosophy. He completed his doctoral studies in 1985 with the degree of Dr. phil. He has been teaching since 1997 in the Faculty of Media. He began as a visiting professor in 1997 and was appointed university professor for Multimedia Narration in 1999. In 2001, he was selected as Rector of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and then became the state secretary for the Ministry of Culture and Education of the Free State of Thuringia in 2004, where he was active until November of 2009.
