24.5. Guest lecture by Prof. Ricardo Dal Farra »A transdisciplinary journey. From electroacoustic music and media art to the environmental crisis and beyond.«
On Thursday, 24 May 2018, 13.30 – 15.30 p.m., we welcome Prof. Ricardo Dal Farra from Concordia University, Montreal for a guest lecture about »A transdisciplinary journey. From electroacoustic music and media art to the environmental crisis and beyond.« at our »Medienzentrum«. Interested people are warmly invited to join the lecture.
From the rich Latin American electroacoustic music history, spanning over 60 years, to the world flourishment of the media arts connected to an (until recently) unthinkable variety of scientific and technology disciplines, this lecture will be presenting a journey of research-creation joining art, science and technology, at times from a multi or interdisciplinary perspective, while other times also leading to a transdisciplinary approach.
How the Latin American Electroacoustic Music Collection, big data, electronic art educational programs, conference series such as Balance-Unbalance and Understanding Visual Music, sound art, and the Red Cross Climate Centre, could be linked? This presentation will be an overview of projects that have been crossing some boundaries and proposing to learn from our past, to better understand our present, and to work on designing a (human) future.
