»Wissenschaftstag« 2022 »Wer ist…?« (Who is...?) — Introduction of New Appointees
New beginnings are always special: People get to know one another, share ideas and inspire one another. This year’s »Wissenschaftstag« at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar focusses on just this. Six new professors from all four faculties will introduce themselves on Wednesday 30 November 2022. They will share their inspiration and motivation for research, art and teaching.
Their presentations will range from opportunities for interdisciplinary cooperation in urban planning to the analysis of software models. The scientists will present their fields in 10 minutes talks, after which the audience will be invited to ask questions. Prof. Dr. Andrea Osburg, Vice President of Research, Art and Young Academics, will be moderating the discussion.
»Getting to know each other better and exchanging ideas should be the focus of ›Wissenschaftstag 2022‹«, says Dr. Kristina Schönherr, Director of the Research Operations Office, who is organising this year’s event. The afternoon break in the programme will offer the chance for individual discussions.
Prof. Dr. Jutta Emes, President (Interim) of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, explains: »The introduction of the new appointees at the university and the university’s »Wissenschaftstag« complement each other wonderfully. The introduction of the new appointees focusses on learning about the university and getting to know one another. The new colleagues will introduce themselves and share their research foci with the university community. I look forward to a stimulating interdisciplinary exchange.«
Outstanding achievements are also recognised on »Wissenschaftstag«: Prof. Dr. Christian Koch, Vice President of Student and Academic Affairs, will be presenting this year’s university awards to student from all four faculties. The »Akademie gemeinnütziger Wissenschaften zu Erfurt« also recognises young scientists for transdisciplinary research. They present their award, the Dalberg-Preis, in cooperation with the universities and higher education institutes across the State of Thuringia. The award is named after patron of science and the arts Carl von Dalberg (1744-1817), Privy Councillor and Governor of Erfurt.
The event is open to the university public and is scheduled to take place on 30 November 2022 from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm in the Audimax.
