APOLDA EUROPEAN DESIGN AWARD—Partnership with the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Renewed
After the successful premiere of Fashion Clips in 2011, the jury of the APOLDA EUROPEAN DESIGN AWARD 2014 has decided to continue the project in 2014 as well as its partnership with the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The partners signed the cooperation agreement on Thursday, October 18, 2012.
Young media artists from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will once again produce short and striking commercials for the APOLDA EUROPEAN DESIGN AWARD 2014, which will present the collection of films by the promising designers in a colourful and entertaining style with a refined cinematic flair. The 30-60-second “Fashion Clips” are presented online and provide background- and contact information for the young designers, who can use this presence as digital business cards.
The Fashion Clips project is based on a long-term partnership. The Weimar District, city of Apolda, Wirtschaftsförder-Vereinigung Apolda-Weimarer Land e.V. (The Economic Development Association of Apolda-Weimar) and Bauhaus-Universität Weimar agreed upon the cooperative partnership within the framework of the APOLDA EUROPEAN DESIGN AWARD 2011. Then, 34 fashion designers received the chance to present their work in “Digital Showrooms” online. Media Art/Media Design students conceptualised “tailor-made” the central Fashion Clips—short advertisement films for the collections—and then realised them on a professional filmic level.
Prof. Wolfgang Kissel, Dipl.-Des. Jörg Heiß, Alexandra Janizewski and Olaf Nenninger will again assume artistic leadership of the project.
