23.5. »Konzert im Dome« presents the set to music 360-degree works of students of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the University of Music FRANZ LISZT
The opening night of FullDome Festival is dedicated to a special performance at the Jena Planetarium. The audience is invited to »Konzert im Dome« – The Visual Music Experience.
Original fulldome shows, never seen or heard before, take you on a journey through the art of set-to-music visuals and visualized music in 360-degrees, combining digital projection and spatial sound compositions. from students of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar.
The visual music works are combined with live acts from outstanding musicians performing under a sky of immersive visuals:
- Mukasa Wafula, PhD candidate at Franz Liszt Music University Weimar, with the African Litungu lyre and chants from Kenia;
- Li PengPeng, master of the seven-string Guqin zither, with traditional music from China
- Günter Baby Sommer (Dresden), legendary percussionist improvising to
- live generated 360-degree-visuals by Bauhaus student Ioannis Oriwol.
The program will be introduced by Prof. Dr. Tiago de Oliveira Pinto (Franz Liszt Music University Weimar, UNESCO chair Transcultural Music Studies) and Prof. Micky Remann (Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Immersive Media).
The annual FullDome Festival at the Zeiss-Planetarium Jena since 2007, is closely linked to the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Founder and director Prof. Micky Remann has promoted and taught the art of 360-degree storytelling and performance at Bauhaus-Universität Immersive Media classes. His work focuses on innovative performance formats combining live music, sound design, theater and digital 360°projection.
The »Konzert im Dome« was created in cooperation of University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar and Bauhaus-Universität Weimar by invitation of the Fulldome Festival Foundation.
