On 21 and 22 July 2023, the conference »Non-machines: Playground of Perspectives« will take place at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Interested parties from the fields of art, literature, philosophy and design, as well as activists and changemakers, are invited to participate in the open call. Contributions can be submitted until 10 May.

After four years, the student-organised »marke.6« is returning to Leipzig: as part of the Frühlingsrundgang of the Baumwollspinnerei, it will be presenting eight different artistic positions from the Faculty of Art and Design in the boesner project room for two days in the exhibition », dass du« (», that you«).

On Monday, 1 May 2023, the time has finally come again: the daring pilots of the »SpaceKidHeadCup« will race down the soapbox track on Windmühlenstraße. For the 32nd time, the students of the two Weimar universities, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT, are organising one of the annual highlights in Weimar.

All over Germany, you can find friends living far away from one another, couples in long-distance relationships and grandparents living far away from their grandchildren. While spending time together in video conferences is a possibility, this form of shared experience has its limits. Social Virtual Reality provides extended potential for these interactions. But how can interactions that foster social intimacy be further improved in virtual spaces? This question is the focal point of the »GROOVE« research project. Together with researchers from the Technischen Universität Ilmenau, Brandenburg Labs GmbH and Consensive GmbH, researchers from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be receiving 1.5 million euros in funding over 1.5 years from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

Am Mittwoch, 26. April 2023, startet an der Fakultät Medien die von der Professur »Geschichte und Theorie der Kulturtechniken« organisierte Ringvorlesung »Andere Kulturtechniken«. Immer mittwochs im Sommersemester 2023, um 19 Uhr, stellen international renommierte Wissenschaftler*innen neue Ansätze der Kulturtechnikforschung vor.

In Zusammenarbeit mit der Musicus Society und der Klassik Stiftung Weimar finden am 18. April und am 20. April 2023 ein Kammermusikkonzert und ein Konzertabend unter dem Titel Bauhaus@Hongkong statt. Universitätspräsident Peter Benz moderiert beide Abende.

A century has passed since the State Bauhaus presented its work to the public for the first time in a major exhibition. The »Bauhaus-Ausstellung« (Bauhaus Exhibition), whose reputation reached far beyond Weimar, was held from 15 August to 30 September 1923 and was a magnet for countless artists, intellectuals and art aficionados of the time. The exhibition solidified the international reputation of the art school.

Im Rahmen des Projektes »GestrickeGewebeGewirke. Textilerbe repaired« finden an vier Abenden im April und Mai 2023 Lectures rund um die Themen Netzwerkarbeit, zeitgenössische künstlerische Position, künstlerische Forschung, textiles Erbe und Nachhaltigkeit im Textilen statt.
