At the renowned media art festival »Ars Electronica« in Linz, a total of 29 artists from the Faculty of Art and Design will be exhibiting their works in the »Campus« area from 6 to 10 September 2023. Under the title »Non-machines: Playground of Perspectives«, these artists will enrich the festival programme with contemporary debates and works from the »Media Art and Design« degree programme.

Ein besonderes Sonnensegel ist derzeit am »x.stahl« hinter dem Kubus am Hauptgebäude der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar angebracht. Iffat Mahmuda Khan und David Benjamin Beckert, Studenten im Studiengang Integrated Urban Development and Design, haben es aus recyceltem Plastik als Beitrag für die Bauhaus-Wochen entwickelt und realisiert.

A commemorative concept recalling the National Socialist history of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar buildings in Marienstraße 13 and 15 and Belvederer Allee 6 is being developed. The complex history is to be rendered in the areas around the buildings. The inter-faculty project will be funded by the Presidium of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar until fall 2024.

The Haus am Horn facade projections, created within the scope of a project of the MediaArchitecture degree programme in the 2023 summer semester, will be presented on 31 August and 1 September 2023 during the Bauhaus Weeks. All interested persons are warmly invited to attend.

For the second time, the Stifterverband and the Reinhard Frank Foundation have awarded fellowships to student tandems and trios as part of their joint funding programme, »DigitalChangeMaker Accelerator«. Ludwig Lorenz, a student in the Computer Science of Media Bachelor’s degree programme at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, belongs to the interdisciplinary team involved in the acclaimed »PartiDeck« project.

Vom 2. September bis 15. Oktober 2023 sind im Bad Berkaer Coudray-Haus 40 Entwürfe für einen Kneipp-Pavillon von Architekturstudierenden der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar zu sehen. Interessierte sind herzlich zur Vernissage am 2. September 2023, 15 Uhr, eingeladen.

Wie gelingt es, künftige Planer*innen auf die drängenden Herausforderungen wie zum Beispiel Klimawandel, Artensterben, Bodenverlust vorzubereiten, eine integrierte Sichtweise zu vermitteln und auf ein interdisziplinäres Arbeiten vorzubereiten? Diesen Fragen widmet sich eine Gesprächsrunde mit Expert*innen am Freitag, 25. August 2023, im Rahmen des StadtLand Forums der IBA Thüringen.

Am Dienstag, 15. August 2023, wurden die »Bauhaus-Wochen«, genau 100 Jahre nach der ersten großen Bauhaus-Ausstellung von 1923, vor dem Bauhaus-Museum in Anwesenheit von Universitätspräsident Prof. Peter Benz eröffnet. Nach einem heftigen Regenguss, der die Veranstaltung kurzzeitig unterbrach, wurde schließlich doch noch mit einer Geburtstagstorte in Form des Hauses Am Horn, Musik und einer Tanzperformance gefeiert.

Digitisation in schools is advancing in leaps and bounds. Special digital learning and teaching aids are to be used in the further training of sports, music and art teachers as well as the associated subject lessons. As part of the nationwide competence network »lernen:digital« (learning:digital), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research is funding the sub-project »Digitisation-related and digitally-supported professionalisation of sports, music and art teachers« (DigiProSMK) with around 7 million euros. At Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Andrea Dreyer, Professorship of Art and its Didactics, is participating in the project with regard to art teaching.
