summaery2020 remote

From 30 July to 2 August 2020, the Bauhaus Universität Weimar held its annual show »summaery2020 remote« under the auspices of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
This year's motto picks up on current discourses, positions, works and projects from research and teaching and will be presented under a completely new guise: digital, networked, close.

Greeting on summaery2020 remote from Prof. Dr. Winfried Speitkamp, President of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar

Welcome to summaery2020 remote

The first digital semester at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar started at the beginning of May 2020. Within a very short time, creative solutions for location-independent work, »remote work«, were sought, tested, rejected and improved. This is a continuous process that has resulted in numerous projects at the Faculties of Architecture and Urbanisms, Civil Engineering, Media, and Art and Design. Just a click away, teachers and students are now bringing these new formats, new themes, new spaces and new approaches directly into your living room.

Those interested still have the opportunity to participate in this extraordinary »Experiment Bauhaus«. Discover exciting projects on virtual tours, watch films or take your time to read up on creative designs and research work. Let us inspire you.

The look: remote and together

Photo: Philipp Montenegro, Graphic: Rhoda Herold, Hannes Naumann

Rhoda Herold and Hannes Naumann, two students of Visuelle Kommunikation, have taken on the task of giving the annual exhibition its look. Together with their tutor, Guest Researcher Stefan Guzy, they wanted to take up the state of experimental development, of the constant growth of content in their basic graphic design: Intertwined, clutching hands stand for community and cooperation even in times of separate work and scrollbars in a strict, typographic framework build a bridge to digital teaching and learning. Their idea of creating connections goes even further. Graphics and media can be combined in a modular way. Posters, postcards and flyers can be flexibly and extensively hung next to and inside each other as the mood takes you and the available space allows.
