The project combines the theory and practice of urban photography with urban planning and cultural studies perspectives on the city and its representation in photography. Just as the portrayed city always contains an interpretation of the city, the picture itself can also be the object of interpretation. The interaction of photography and interpretation, of one's own practice and theoretical observation is at the focus of this interdisciplinary project, which explores particularly the image of the city of Weimar.
