When talking about the term "Internet of Things" one means the connection of more and more devices. This does not only lead to challenges for developers but also for researchers. Nowhere this becomes as clear as to when dealing with so-called SmartLocks. Those are locks that can be opened via Bluetooth, NFC or a fingerprint. In the context of this project, students have inspected several SmartLocks with respect to their weaknesses and elaborated approaches to overcome existing security mechanisms.
