One of the outstanding characteristics of art has always been the ability to think counter-models to what exists and to develop critical designs beyond the mainstream.
The focus of teaching in the Chair of Experimental Painting and Drawing is the confrontation with reality. The students should learn to assert (not only) an attitude to our society, to our activities and omissions, to our being and acting with the means of art. The aim is to develop an artistic expression that is as independent as possible.
In intensive cooperation and in the students work, the own logic and language of painting and drawing is thematized, but at the same time the conditions of art, the way it is created, exploited, value is added etc. are always reflected upon and identified.
The core area of the course is artistic practice, which includes both painting and drawing processes as well as their delineations.
During the semester the students work on independent, self-chosen projects, which are presented and discussed in the crit sessions.
