Project description
Framework
Working spaces are scarce at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Therefore, students of the 7th semester developed their own sustainable buildings. Each student designed two drafts – one made with the mineral material clay and second with a fibre material like wood or paper tubes. Both designs had to be simply detailed and offer four workplaces.
Location
The planning area is located on the experimental areas of the campus. The students where to use the existing grid system or consciously oppose it. Larger modules by merging or dividing areas were possible. The height of the modules as well as their roof shapes were not predetermined and could be developed freely.
Drafts
Two publications present the results of an intensive design discourse. In intensive cooperation between supervisors and designers, 2 x 9 worth seeing variants of a student workspace were created, which could actually be built by students in 2021.
