Project description
The small but vibrant department of Immersive Media presents student films and music visualizations in a 360-degree format. In the past semesters, students have created 360-degree films that won awards at the FullDome Festival Jena and international film festivals (Buenos Aires, Melbourne).
We can't simulate the true experience of being completely surrounded by these films in the large planetarium with a digital fulldome projection, but the technology of 360-degree streaming gives a vivid impression of the immersive possibilities of media art and design.
This experience works best with VR headsets, but the films can also be viewed on the computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone: youtu.be/D-pxmJ-P0F0
In the summaery 2020 we present a selection of outstanding works from the "Immersive Media" fulldome projects:
Is Life a Simulation? (Mohammad Jaradat), DE 2017, 5 min
Seeds (Maximiliane Nirschl), DE 2019, 4 min
The dome is the maestro (Pedro Rodolpho Ramos Camargo), DE 2019, 3 min
‘S’ is for Episode (Jing Augusto-Wüthrich), DE 2018, 5 min
Das indianische Meisterstück (Raphael Schardt), DE 2018, 5 min
