Project description

The dynamics of the weather exert a fascinating force on us. It is omnipresent in daily reports and discussions – ranging from weather forecasts to climate change – and is becoming an increasing threat. About the Weather is an interdisciplinary project-related seminar for students on all courses and faculties at the Bauhaus University Weimar. The seminar focuses on the question of how we can develop a constructive attitude towards the climate within our respective disciplinary project work and equally in a transdisciplinary exchange with other fields, and in what way we can contribute to the discussion on spatial, environmental and social change. We will discuss the relationship between weather, climate and design while taking on different perspectives. Air, heat, sun, wind, water, evaporation and transpiration, breathing, cold and comfort are brought into a direct relationship with actual spaces and made tangible for project work.
