Project description

This project focuses on the modal identification of a structural system. The work consists of three major phases: 1) Numerical modelling of the structure, 2) Preparation and performance of experiments, 3) System identification and modal analysis. Finally, the dynamic properties of the numerical model are compared to the identified natural frequencies, mode shapes and modal damping ratios. In this subproject, a hollow section beam with free support conditions is analyzed for its modal parameters through numerical and experimental analysis.
