Project description

From April 26 to 30, 2021, six female students of the Master's program Media Management took part in the simulative business game »MarkStrat« under the guidance of the professorship "Marketing and Media". During these five days, the students took the position of a marketing department of a fictitious company in international teams, developed corresponding strategies and had to make decisions, for example, on the design of the marketing mix or how to make investments.
The international business game »MarkStrat« has been an integral part of the professorship's teaching program for years. Every year a group of students from Weimar travels to Annecy in France and competes there at the Université Savoie Mont Blanc together with participants from Poland, Belgium, Russia, Spain and many more. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's simulation took place entirely digitally, but this did not reduce the number of participants. Over 120 students from nine European universities participated - an attendance record! During the simulation, the students were divided into 24 international teams, each consisting of six members from the different universities. They then competed against each other in four fictitious industries.
