Project description
Wir sehen überall Gesichter!
In unserer Umgebung, in Objekten und Gebrauchsgegenständen und auch in den Wolken nehmen wir dauernd Gesichter war. Auch ein nur teilweise vorliegendes Muster vervollständigt unser Gehirn zu einem Ganzen. „Pareidolie“ heißt dieses Phänomen in der Wissenschaft.
Masken, überall Masken!
Aktuell erfährt das Thema eine völlig neue Dimension. Gesichter sind der Schlüssel, um das Wesen eines Menschen zu lesen. Dies wird durch eine Maskierung gebrochen. Das kann irritieren und auch eine bedrohliche Wirkung entfalten und Parallelwelten erzeugen.
Im Projekt sind Gegenstände, Geräte und Bedieneroberflächen entstanden, die mit intuitiv zugänglicher, aber minimaler Mimik verschiedenste Emotionen zum Ausdruck bringen.
Die täglichen sozialen Beziehungen sind ohne Körpersprache gar nicht denkbar. Gruppen von Menschen, Gesellschaften und Kulturen entwickeln ein eigenes System von nonverbalen Botschaften, einen eigenen Code. Nur wenn man diesen Code kennt, kann man ihn richtig verstehen und benutzen.
Mit maskierten Maschinen werden menschliche Eigenschaften auf Nichtmenschliches übertragen.
Eine anthropomorphe bzw. zoomorphe Gestaltung bei technischen Gegenständen (z.B. Robotern) kann auch Ängste und Beklemmung auslösen.
Wie wenig Gesicht braucht es beim Entwurf, um ein Gegenüber, eine „alterity“ zu schaffen?
Im Projekt untersuchten wir menschliche Interfaces im Industrial Design und loten den Designraum solcher Anwendungen in verschiedenen Anwendungen aus.
