Project description

Master-Thesis Work “A Walk Through the Hut” is dedicated to the theory and practice of the hut-structures. The concept of the hut built in the crisis of all sorts powered by the disturbance of human rights and vice versa. It stems from the question of how to carry on one's existence in a digitalized world and bound to the challenge of the "noble savage".

During my education at the Bauhaus University, I have discovered that my heart gravitates towards the architectural theory, while the entire body seeks for the actual building, to be more precise — carpentry. To solve this predicament, I have organized this project in order to examine and experience obscure socio-cultural qualities and architectural potentials dormant in the hut-structures. As a result, the solitary building experiment in the Allotment Garden in Weimar, Nord is conducted creating a meshwork with a loose end that can be picked up and taken further by myself and future garden renters.

As the work can be called multifaceted and remains on-going, the website serves both as the material bank of the project, and the container for the media content to be replenished during the following months. In this respect, the navigation menu is the principal element of the website and based on the notion of the remote controller that provides access to the full spectrum of the platform’s content, such as writings, sound, illustrations ect., hence, enabling the viewer to switch the channels according to his*her interests.
