Project description
The project consists of two sub-projects, which are closely related. Only one subproject had to be processed as a semester project.
Subproject 1: Regional development concept; Subproject 2: Development and design of a hotel
Target Group of Students: Master Architektur /Integrated Urban Development and Design/ European Urban Studies / Urban Studies / Media Architecture
Tuition Language : German/English
Starting position
Limbourg in Belgium is currently establishing itself as the "Historic Capital of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine" based on its historical importance as the "Old Capital of the Duchy of Limbourg". This development should be taken further and made known in the Euregio and beyond.
Task
In sub-project 1, a regional development concept is to be drawn up for the region of the former Duchy of Limbourg, which analyzes and takes up the economic, tourist, landscape and cultural potential of the region. A mission statement and a forward-looking, sustainable concept for the next decades should be set up. The Ambassade du Pays de Rode based in Limbourg and its Ambassadeur / Ambassador in Limbourg and other personalities from the German and Dutch border regions as well as from the Belgian area support the project.
Subproject 2 will be the development and design of a hotel on the former site of the Schlosshotel Chateau d'Andrimont (the castle no longer exists).
