The aid convoy with donations for the people in Ukraine, which started from Weimar on Thursday, 3 March 2022, arrived in the border area in the early morning.

On Saturday, 5 March 2022, the student councils of the two Weimar universities invite you to a fundraising event with music and poetry starting 12 pm. In front of the main building of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, donations will be collected for the emergency aid campaign of the AWO Regionalverband Mitte-West-Thüringen e. V..

As a first measure, the staff of the International Office contacted all students currently enrolled at the university, both from Ukraine and the Russian Federation. Discussions were held with the Ukrainian students to identify their needs and most pressing problems and to provide individual assistance.

In addition to the municipal Ukraine help hotline (Tel. 03643/762622), the Weimar city administration has activated two digital services to facilitate the assistance and reception of war refugees and to provide maximum data protection.

On Thursday morning, March 3, 2022, the relief transport from Weimar starts with a large number of relief goods and donations. Clothing is now no longer needed, but many other essential things.

On Monday, 28 February 2022, representatives of various initiatives and associations met at »Mascha« (formerly Project 1) to discuss and coordinate concrete aid measures for the people in Ukraine. Students and members of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar are also participating in an aid convoy that will set off for Ukraine on Thursday, 3 March 2022.

A wave of willingness to help has been felt within the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in recent days - many students and staff members want to engage themselves for the people in Ukraine. Their sympathy and offers of help also go to those Ukrainians who are currently in Weimar and have to fear for the lives of their relatives and friends.
