Meeting places on the campus

The m18 (short for Marienstraße 18) is the student union and one of the most popular meeting places for students at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. This is where the departmental committees of each faculty, the and the Bauhaus Internationals  hold their regular meetings. Several WIN events also take place there. You can purchase coffee and snacks at the bar. And in the summer, you can enjoy your cappuccino in the garden located behind the m18.

The Bauhauscafé at Marienstraße 1 also serves a very tasty and inexpensive espresso. The café is a favourite summertime meeting spot for students who like sipping their beverages outside along the window front.

More Information about m18 and the activities of the student community you can find here. [German only]

If you’d like to have a beer with friends, we recommend the rustically furnished pub Zum Falken at Trierer Straße 7. At the “Wunderbar”, located in the “Haus für Soziokultur” at “Gerber” (Gerberstraße 3), you can play table football with friends and buy food and beverages at a reasonable price. Right across from the student residence hall on Jakobsplan, you’ll find the Planbar (Jakobsplan 6) where you can chill out to DJ music and a cocktail. Some more nice places to chill ReBa, s140, Salon Konetzky, C.Keller Teestube, Havana Club, Unruh, Weinbar, ACC Café, Planbar, Milchbar, Smugglers and Irish Pub Weimar.
