The DAAD-Prize is awarded to an international (doctoral) student (who obtained their university entry qualification outside of Germany), who, in addition to recognizable academic achievements, has also shown remarkable social and / or intercultural commitment. Candidates should be in their advanced study period (at least in the second academic year). They should not be employed as scientific or artistic full-time staff at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (Hiwi positions are no obstacle for the application).
The prize winner is selected by a committee of members of the four faculties and the International Office. The DAAD-Prize is awarded (prospectively in December) with a grant of 1,000 euros.
Candidates must be nominated for the DAAD-Prize by two staff members of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (among which at least one professor) by a recommendation letter stating the candidate's qualification for the award.
