The DAAD-Preis is awarded to an international student or doctoral candidate, who, in addition to recognizable academic achievements, has also shown remarkable social, societal or intercultural commitment. Candidates should have obtained their university entry qualification outside of Germany and preferably be in their advanced study period (at least in the second academic year). They should not be employed as scientific or artistic staff at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Selection and Awarding
The prize winner is selected by a committee of members of the four faculties and the International Office. The DAAD-Preis is awarded with a certificate by the DAAD and a grant of 1,000 euros. The awards ceremony will prospectively take place end of November.
Candidates must be nominated for the DAAD-Preis by two staff members of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (among which at least one professor) by a recommendation letter stating the candidate's qualification for the award. Candidates cannot apply themselves for the DAAD-Preis. If you believe that you meet the awarding criteria, please contact two staff members to check whether they would like to nominate you.

3. recommendation letters by two staff members of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (at least one from a professor) of max. 1 page, stating why the candidate should be awarded (due to academic achievements and social/ intercultural commitment)

5. proof of extracurricular and/ or intercultural / social commitment
