Fellowships for researchers who fled Ukraine and the Russian Federation
To help support academics and artists who have fled Ukraine and the Russian Federation in the hopes on continuing their work, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be offering three fellowships in the winter semester 2023/24. The fellowships will support researchers with 2,000 euros per month for a period of 12 months. Mentors from the individual faculties will provide appropriate support.
Eligible are:
- PhD candidates who have fled
- Artists and architects not holding or pursuing a doctorate (based on the faculty's assessment of the candidate) who have fled
- PostDocs who have fled
In order to apply, please submit the following documents:
- letter of application
- academic CV
- certificates
- language proof of English or German (if applicable)
- proof about the status as refugee in Germany or detailed description about the personal situation which shows that this status will likely be granted soon*
- research exposé on current or planned research / research proposal for academic activities at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
- if possible mentor's agreement by a professor of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar

The selection will be made based on the candidate's professional aptitude as evaluated by the faculty.
*Researchers and artists who do not fulfill this requirement can stay as guest researchers at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar outside from this funding programme for refugees. Pre-condition for such a stay are funding options and the mentorship from one of the four faculties. Please contact the faculty directly to discuss this option.
