Go Abroad
Go abroad and make the most of it!
Whether studying or working abroad, the “Go Abroad and make the most of it!” programme accompanies you BEFORE, DURING and AFTER your trip.
Benefits for Students
To study abroad is a big decision. In a new city and university, many new impression and encounters await you. The skills to deal with these experiences, and new cultural environments, are developed in the conscious discussion and reflection of one’s own experiences.
We are offering you a time and a place to achieve this!
With our project, we you get the opportunity to:
- Prepare yourself for your time abroad with an intercultural training session.
- Discuss your experiences and encounters and to share them with others.
- Reflect on the self-improvement process.
- Make yourself stand out with new intercultural skills (e.g. for a job application).
After participating on the “Go abroad and make the most of it!” programme, you can ask to have a Intercultural.Competant.Engaged certificate to prove your newly learned skills.
Offers
As with all offers, we are with you BEFORE, DURING and AFTER your trip abroad.

- Flip your perspective and consider cultural aspects that are not immediately obvious,
- Develop strategies to cope with irritations and intercultural misunderstandings,
- Familiarise yourself with the concept of “Culture Shock” and how to deal with it,
- Make you aware of the role of prejudice and the challenge of "prejudice-conscious description" of intercultural experiences and,
- Think about your own expectations of your stay abroad, your resources and challenges.
After participating, you can ask to have a Intercultural.Competant.Engaged certificate to prove your newly learned skills.
While Abroad (online platform)
Share your impressions and experiences during your time abroad with others.
The online platform offers a safe space for exchange with others and the opportunity to consciously reflect on cultural perceptions.
Return Workshop
What have I taken from my year abroad and how can I apply my experiences to the next chapter of my life?
Maybe you have already asked yourself these questions after returning from your study or placement.
In the workshop, evaluate your impressions, work together with others and find ways to make your experiences and new skills visible.
The workshop will allow you to
- Reflect on your experiences abroad in a group environment.
- Know the importance of a "prejudice-conscious description" of intercultural experiences and to face this challenge.
- Make you aware of your newly developed skills,
- Encourage your personal, academic, and intercultural development and make it visible, e.g. for future employers.
After participating, you can ask to have a Intercultural.Competant.Engaged certificate to prove your newly learned skills.
