International Student Barometer (ISB)

ISB is not just another online survey! Be part of it and make your voice be heard!

Please note! The next ISB is scheduled for 2020. We will inform you in time!

ISB@BAUHAUS

International students are an integral part of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Our students from all over the world make the university diverse, exciting, open-minded, international, intercultural and competitive - in other words: a better place to study.

Bauhaus-Universität Weimar strives to constantly improve and monitor study conditions. For this purpose, we would like to know more about the expectations and experiences of our international students. By taking part in the ISB, you can help Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and (prospective) international students to enhance our services.

Bauhaus-Universität Weimar took part in ISB in:

  • 2010
  • 2011
  • 2012
  • 2016

An extract of the results may soon be found here.

THE INSTRUMENT

The ISB tracks and compares the decision-making, expectations, perceptions and intentions of international students from application to graduation. It enables institutions to make informed decisions to enhance the international student experience and drive successful recruitment and marketing strategies.

During an online survey ISB questions target at gaining insights into the following eight key areas:

  1. Decision-making
  2. Application process
  3. Enquiry to acceptance
  4. Arrival and orientation
  5. The learning experience
  6. The living experience
  7. Support services
  8. Recommendation

The ISB enables participating institutions to track and compare satisfaction levels of international students and to identify specific areas of key importance to them.

With feedback from over 3 million students worldwide across all student types, levels and years of study, the ISB is the leading benchmarking tool used to track the international student experience.

The German ISB survey is a GATE-Germany initiative of the German Higher Education Rectors Conference (HRK) and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
