The “International Student Barometer” is the worldwide largest international student satisfaction survey. At Bauhaus-Universität Weimar the data was collected until December 2, 2016. There is no more participation possible but stay tuned for the feedback session in spring to discuss the results with us!
This year's dates:
- mid December: The winners for the 2016 wave will be selected at random on and notified via email. The winner of the 1,000 € (granted by i-graduate) is a female student of Singaporean nationality, enrolled in an undergraduate course at SIM GE.
- end of December: The first survey results ("ranking sheet") will be made available to the university.
- May 2017: During the feedback presentation the survey results were be presented to the university public.
- mid June 2017: The survey results will be analysed according to the various university divisions and respective measures decided on.
Constant quality control is very important at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Therefore, quality is checked regularly and systematically. The International Student Barometer ("ISB") is an online survey, which the university uses (1) to identify key factors that drive the satisfaction of our international students and (2) to improve the service for international students. So far, the survey was conducted three times from 2009 to 2011. The results have been presented to the university public and have been discussed in various committees to implement further steps. Also this year's results will be examined very closely and presented to the the relevant stakeholders at the university.
The ISB is conducted by the International Insight Group (i-graduate). It is an online survey which can be completed in English or in German. We would like to invite you to give us feedback about your experiences here in Weimar.
Who could participate?
Eligible to participate were all international Bachelor, Master students, as well as PhD students at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, i.e. all students who have not been awarded a German higher education entrance exam (Abitur).
How does it help students?
Your feedback to our university shows your responsibility towards the study programme and towards what it can offer to prospective fellow students. The ISB is your chance to tell us precisely what you like, what you don’t like, and what you wish to see improved.
Why participate in the survey?
Bauhaus-Universität Weimar would like to constantly improve and monitor study conditions, for that we would like to know more about the expectations and experiences of international students. Furthermore, you have the chance to win a cash prize or 20 theatre or 30 cinema tickets, sponsored by i-graduate and the International Office.
With the ISB, i-graduate offers the worldwide largest yearly study on the satisfaction of international students. The German ISB survey is a GATE-Germany initiative of the German Higher Education Rectors Conference (HRK) and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). For more information on the ISB, see the ISB info sheet.
At Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, this year's International Student Barometer is supported by "Studium.Bauhaus" (sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research), University Communications, the International Office, as well as "STIBET" and "admINT" (sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service).
