Strategic Partnerships
Strategically expanding international university partnerships
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will receive about 1 million euros from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in the years 2013-2016 to strengthen relations with three of its long-standing partner universities. As part of the Strategic Partnership program, the university will build and strategically engage in joint activities with Tongji University in Shanghai (China), the Moscow State Building University (Russia) and the University of California, San Diego (USA). The program is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The range of measures is varied and spans all four faculties of the university. For example, research and study visits, summer schools and guest lecturerships will lead to joint research applications or study programs in the longer term. Special attention is paid to interdisciplinary research and the promotion of young researchers.
